Plot:

Manabu Yazaki (Yusuke Iseya), who, as the story begins, has lost his business and his wife in Tokyo, is now returning home to Obihiro on Hokkaido. His older brother Takeo (Koichi Sato) runs a stable for Ban-ei horse race. Takeo treats his brother indifferently since Manabu was out of contact with Takeo and his mother for 13years.

Manabu bets all his remaining cash on one horse at the Ban-ei horse race. The horse, named Unryu, stops in the middle of the second hump and he lost all the money. Takeo discovers Manabu's financial straits and offers him a job at the stable. After living most of his life in the chase for success in the business world in Tokyo, Manabu finally finds he enjoys working at the stable and deepens relationships with the stableboys, as well as with a female jockey named Makie. He begins to take care of the horse, Unryu, with whom Manabu got an instinctive sympathy as a loser like him. He also tries to restore the self-confidence of Makie, who is on the wane after losing races.



●WANKO~THE STORY OF ME, MY FAMILY AND MY DOG (2011; 123 min.)

Plot:

This story is retold through the eyes of a boy and his dog. This is a miraculous story based on true events – story of friendship and the indelible bond between a dog, named Rock, a boy and his family.

Following a devastating volcanic eruption in August 2000, the Noyama's are forced to evacuate from their island home in Miyakejima. Separated from each other and their beloved Rock and struggling to adapt to life as evacuees in Tokyo, they grapple with anxiety and despair on a daily basis. But, they never give up hope of being reunited with Rock and moving back to their home in Miyakejima.

This story reminds us of the importance of emotional connection, family bonds, love of the homeland, and the will to live.

Plot:

Chibi Maruko-chan is one of the longest running and highest ever-rated anime in Japan. Momoko Sakura is 9-years old girl who is often called "Chibi Maruko-chan" due to her young age and small size. In school, she has two best friends: Ono-kun and Sugiyama-kun. They two are always together, but at the same time compete with each other in everything – starting from the song contests and ending with the sport competitions.

The school field day is coming soon, where everybody wants to show his best. Maruko also wants to show what she can do. For that, she has to overcome her natural laziness and bad habit of being late…

This is a fun-loving and enjoyable anime, which portrays the simple things in life. You will not be able to watch it without reminiscing warmheartedly about your own childhood memories. It is full of lighthearted fun and is something that the whole family can enjoy.
